Progressbar setLength() Doesn't Work

I cannot control the width of a horizontal Progressbar using setLength(). Any value used causes it to take up the entire width of the page. The following code sample is causing the same result for both Progressbars created. I've tried all variations of setWidth() and setLength() but without success.

        VLayout leftLayout = new VLayout(10);
        leftLayout.setWidth100();
        leftLayout.setHeight100();
        leftLayout.setPadding(new Integer(0));  
        leftLayout.setMargin(new Integer(0));  
        leftLayout.setAlign(Alignment.LEFT);
        leftLayout.setAlign(VerticalAlignment.TOP);
        leftLayout.setOverflow(Overflow.HIDDEN);

        final Progressbar currentProgressBar = new Progressbar();  
        currentProgressBar.setVertical(false);  
        currentProgressBar.setHeight(20);  
        currentProgressBar.setLength(150);
        
        leftLayout.addMember(currentProgressBar);

        final Progressbar overallProgressBar = new Progressbar();  
        overallProgressBar.setVertical(false);  
        overallProgressBar.setHeight(20);  
        overallProgressBar.setLength(50);

        leftLayout.addMember(overallProgressBar);
