Dear Iso,
didn't find a better place to post this in your boards, and also didn't want to ask this in any GWT Boards as you may have a more objective answer (by supporting both approaches SC/S'GWT).
Tried to get into Web programming by using native stuff (JS, HTML, CSS, PHP), but untyped, dynamic, multi-syntax, browser-dependent code did drive me crazy. Got into GWT and S'GWT one year ago and now am able to do serious software development faster and of better quality than ever in my life as software guy since 1990. Don't care about CSS, HTML, run-time issues, browser madness - most of the day. Can implement non-trivial applications within days. Migrating complex projects - no deal. And your latest mobile support even closes the gap to those platforms. Enjoy everyday of doing JEE/S'GWT dev!
Anyway I have to ask myself (and be prepared for questions by others) if [S']GWT is the right way to go on the long term. The fact that I am addicted to this for now and for ever obviously doesn't mean anything for the global perspective, right? ;-)
So I really would like to get some fdb from you on this. I assume that you have a much better overview on the market and also a neutral perspective by supporting both the native (SC) and the GWT (S'GWT) way...
Yours,
Ekki
