The easy solution to this would be to specify a DTD, as has been requested before. I don't believe this stops you from extending it, but warnings and auto-complete would then work for the standard stuff.

the previously mentioned scrollbar flashing bug was caused by the an old style sheet that had been included. i wiped out the style sheet and now it's fine.
