What is the point of not permitting searches for phrases that contain words that are "too long", e.g. addShowContextMenuHandler, which precludes finding posts that contain references to particular methods, often useful to help with one's own debugging?

Thanks for the catch. The max word length in a search has just been updated from 20 characters to 100 characters. -
I just tried 'addShowContextMenuHandler' itself, which should at least have found this thread, but comes up empty. Perhaps a re-indexing of the posts needs to occur? Just a surmise.Comment

I've tried several different searches for words in some older posts contained within [CODE] blocks and they do not appear to be indexed. Hopefully that can also be done.Last edited by Olivercomputing; 11 Feb 2011, 14:48.Comment

vBulletin is configured to cache all search results for one hour - so if you had previously searched for something and got an empty result, that may explain the behavior you're seeing.Comment
