As to "big flashing letters", sorry, your perception that this is very important isn't really accurate. We get more requests for recurring events, built-in load on demand, etc.

Well, to change Isomorphic perception just a little bit:
Events duration longer than one day IS a very important feature of the Calendar for me. It is waiting in the Wishlist quite a while.

You can see, in the SmartGWT source (at the Google Code site) the process by which the data from the locale .properties file is applied. Load your messages and run the same code.
