GUI look and feel behaves wayward in Internet Explorer

Broadoft created an Application in smartGWT and we are supporting Firefox, Internet Explorer and safari. We are using multiple UI items like EditItem, SelectItem, CheckboxItem, DateItem etc. These items are working and giving proper UI look and feel in Firefox but the same code is not working in Internet Explorer (IE). Specially SelectItem and DateItem behaves wayward, in IE SelectItem dropdown arrow icon goes down than edit label. Similarly in DateItem, date select icon goes down then edit label of calender.
