Tree data for ColumnTree

how can I realize tree data for ColumnTree, similar as it can be done for Tree, e.g. http://www.smartclient.com/smartgwt/...drag_reparent?

Yes, I can use xstream to convert java to xml, but can I only direct use java objects?
