Oops, those are SmartClient docs poking through incorrectly in SmartGWT. This example exists in SmartClient but not yet for SmartGWT. If you are handy with JSNI the SmartClient example is probably enough to get you started for SmartGWT - download the SmartClient SDK and look at smartclientSDK/examples/titanium.
