Double Click Handler onTreeGrid

I am a Smart GWT Power user and I've got a question regarding a DoubleClickHandler. I've added a DoubleClickHandler to a TreeGrid and I'm finding that it's being called if I double click on the + sign just to the left of the root folder. No other folders generate the callback if they are double clicked. Is this something that I've likely done inadvertently? Is there a way to turn it off?

Are you seeing this effect if you just take one of the tree samples and add only your DoubleClickHandler?
