Can a point on a scatter plot be set to different color when selected

I would like to be able to dynamically set the point on a scatter plot to a different color after the plot has been displayed. I have multiple scatter plots using the same record but plotting different y-axis values. I want to be able to highlight the associated record data on all plots, via point hover/click handler, when the user hovers or clicks on a single plot.

I looked at the docs but don't see a way to do this. Is it possible ?

The simplest way to do this is to place your own differently colored dot on top of the dot drawn by the chart, in response to hover events. The Custom Hovers sample does something very much like this.
