how to save a file locally?

Hey guys,

Is there any component that enables the user to make file download? I am searching in showcase, forum, and via Google, but nothing concrete came up till now. Perhaps, I am searching wrongly way.

The intention is user select a line in a list grid and then click on the button, after a while he is prompted by dialog to save a file locally.

Any insight, suggestion, tip or trick...?
