Hint in Date Item

Is it possible to show the hint with mm dd yyyy in the split date item? i.e. month dropdown should show mm, day dropdown should show dd, and year dropdown should show yyyy initially.

We have a client requirement to show this initially when the date item is rendered instead of showing any date.

Yes, use the Skinning System to set the emptyDisplayValue for each of the pickets of the DateItem. They are AutoChildren based on SelectItem.
