    SmartGWT and GeoTools

    1. SmartGWT 2.5
    2. any browser at this time

This is just a very general question. I did research the Net, used Google extensively, and searched on this question within these forums. I did see where it was possible to use SmartGWT and OpenLayers to make a web-based/SmartGWT application including maps. I also did see the gwt-geo tools project out there, but documentation is limited.

Since I have a lot of experience with SmartGWT, I was wondering if anyone had create a SmartGWT and used GeoTools to add maps to the application. I envision adding GIS Maps or MapObjects/Layers to
    a SmartGWT layout.

So, has anyone done this before? Are there any tools out there besides the ones I have already found? Any other insights anyone might have?

BTW, I have seen GeoMajas which on the surface seemed to have most everything I want, but it's a framework I have to learn all over again, or create my own, which at least I'd understand.

Thanks for any help in advance!

A simple search on 'Openlayers' should lead you to this post on the forum:

      SmartGWT and GeoTools

Yep, I saw that thread. I looked up OpenLayers and GIS with a simple search here.

But I think my question was specifically about GeoTools, and not OpenLayers.
I haven't research the differences between the two except that GeoTools is all java, and OpenLayers is more Javascript oriented.

I did find the thread you posted, so I know the use of SmartGWT and OpenLayers is possible, but I was asking about GeoTools specifically.

I am in the process right now of trying to run the GeoTools within SmartGWT to see how it works. I'll let you know how my progress is.

      Thanks!
