    Grid Column Title Shading

Depending on the width of a column, the title will show up with odd shading until the user hovers over the column(s).
One example is the "In Stock" column in the showcase Multi-level Sort example.

Is this a known/expected behavior in IE 8? That is, is there a workaround or fix, or is this part of the "degraded" experience with IE 8?

    1. This happens on 3.1d from 11/7, but it is also happening on the currently-deployed showcase:
SmartClient Version: v8.3_2012-11-09/LGPL Development Only (built 2012-11-09)

    2. IE Version 8.0.6001.18702

    3. N/A

    5. I don't see any javascript errors in the dev console.

Yes, this is basically part of the degraded experience. IE intermittently has display bugs like this where the gradient doesn't cover the specified distance. This isn't one we've been able to isolate - it seems basically random. But as it's just cosmetic and self-corrects, we judged it worth using the native gradients for the performance benefits.
