ComboBoxItem is not always filtering data

We have used one comboBoxItem and used setPickListFilterCriteriaFunction for applying custom criteria. But as we type value in the text field the criteria is not always getting changed (the criteria function is not getting executed) and the filtering is not happening. How to ensure that the criteria always gets updated when we type something in the text field and the options in the comboBxItem filters properly.

Your team has posted similar claims before, each time, we point out that none of the samples show such a problem, all of our automated tests continue to show no such problem, we have no similar bug reports, and that we need a test case so we can reproduce the problem.

All of that is still true.
