    SmartGWT Mobile Scroll Issues

    Hi Isomorphic Team,

We are facing a problem with the scrolling on our mobile application. We have developed it using the SmartGWT Mobile Framework (build 2013-06-24).

We reproduced the issue on your Showcase and this are the steps to follow.

    Steps:

    1. Go to http://smartgwt-mobile.smartclient.c...Data%20Binding
    2. Set the device to Landscape and scroll up to the bottom of the screen.
    3. Set the device to Portrait and tried to scroll down/up.

    Result:

The component inside the view is stuck at the top of the screen (see attached image) while the expected result it is the view to re-adjust to it's new state or just let the user scroll up/down to access the upper items.

Device: iPhone 4 - iOS 6.1.3 (Although this is happening on iPod/iPad and Android too)
    Resource: http://smartgwt-mobile.smartclient.c...Data%20Binding

    Thanks in advance!

          Hi Isomorphic,

Thanks, we have tested the new build and the issue have been fixed for iOS ... but for Android keeps the same.

Despite your fix on the new build, we are still facing problems with this kind of scrolling issue. We reproduced the same unexpected behavior we are having on your showcase (see new attached images).

As we explain in earlier post, the component inside the view is stuck at the top (and at the bottom too) with no possibilities of scrolling at all.

          Device: iPhone 4 - iOS 6.1.3, SamsungGalaxyS4 - Android 4.2.2
          Resource: http://smartgwt-mobile.smartclient.com/#Widgets/Layouts/Vertical%20Layouts

          Thanks!

The online Showcase does not reflect the latest build. Please try with the latest build - we are unable to reproduce a problem with that build and the relevant emulators / devices.

              Hi Isomorphic,

We've compiled your Showcase application with the lastest build (smartgwt-mobile 2013-07-03).
Despite your latest changes, we keep finding inconsistent scrolling behavior between iOS and Android, that is being reflected in our app to our customers discontent.

For example, on your Showcase (using smartgwt-mobile 2013-07-03):

Testing on an iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1.3)

              1. In Portrait mode go to Widgets/Layouts/Vertical Layouts.
              2. Set the device to Landscape and try to scroll down/up.

Result: The scroll event it is not functional (dead).

              ----------------------------------------------

Testing on a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android 4.2.2)

              1. In Portrait mode, go to Widgets/Layouts/Vertical Layouts.
              2. Set the device to Landscape and try to scroll down/up (it works!)
              3. Then scroll slowly (like really slow) all the way down until the components inside the view aren't visible anymore under bottom bar.
              4. Set the device to Portrait and try to scroll down/up.

Result: The scroll event it is not functional (dead).

We really appreciate all your help on this. We are just being slammed by our customer and of course, our QA team.

              Again thanks for the help.

Please try the next nightly build - both the iOS and Android scroll issues you reported should now be fixed.

                  Hi Isomorphic,

Thanks a lot! We have tested with lastest build (2013-07-09) on Android and iPhone and this issues have been fixed.

On the other side, our QA has found another issue in relation to scrolling on Android.

We have tested it on a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android 4.2.2) and these are the steps to reproduce it:

On your Showcase (compiled using smartgwt-mobile 2013-07-09):

                  1. In Portrait mode, go to Widgets/Data Binding/Filtered Lists.
                  2. Then scroll slowly (like really slow) all the way down until the components inside the view aren't visible anymore under bottom bar.

Result: The components inside the view remain hidden when we stop scrolling (see attached image)

                  We really appreciate your help.
                  Thanks one more time.

Thanks guys! You all did a really good job.

We just got one more issue related to the scroll you can help us resolve.

It's has been tested on a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android 4.2.2) using the latest build of the library and these are the steps to reproduce it:

On your Showcase (compiled using smartgwt-mobile 2013-07-15):

                      1. In Portrait mode, go to Widgets/Forms/Inputs.
                      2. Go and write something on the Search field and before leaving it try to scroll up the view (see attached image). Then touch anywhere on the screen in order to hide the keyboard.
                      3. Try to scroll down/up.

Result: The scroll event it is not functional (dead).

                      Thanks and regards

                          Hi Isomorphic Team,

This issue is still happening when you use the back button or the setting button on the device to hide the keyboard.

We have tested this using smartgwt-mobile 2013-07-22 on Smasung Galaxy S4.

                          Thanks!
