Search in Combobox vs SelecItem

Hello, hope all is well.

Please consider the below two images from your showcase.



We have a use case where we have a large list of items, where there's a checkbox to the left, like image to the left.
however, you cannot search in a good way, only press a letter and it hopefully jumps to a relevant location.

I saw some example where you had search fields on top of the column, but IMO it doesn't look great.

What i optimally would like to have is the left dropdown, but the ability to search inside the textfield as in the image to the right, so a combination of these two components.

Is this achievable in any way?

Have you seen the SetFilterItem widget? It deals with the situation you're hitting - a filterable multi-selection list where selected values might be filtered out of view by subsequent filter-values.

I am using 13.1. It doesn't look like it's available there? It's not in the SmartGWT showcase either from what i can see.

Guys any thoughts here? Would be great if the left component just could have the ability to filter rows like the right component above.

This problem has been quite thoroughly addressed in 14.1, including all the settings you might need, perfect performance and caching, etc. Sorry, but it doesn't make sense for us to walk you through how you might put together a lower-quality solution in 13.1 - one you'd just want to throw away later.

I didn't ask that. i mentioned that i am running 13.1 and since you mentioned it explicitly i was not sure whether it was to be available in 13 or not.

We would surely considering upgrading but last i heard newer versions are not released for java11 and there's no chance we'll have time to update anytime soon (i am the only developer).

SetFilterItem is also in 14.0, which uses the old namespace.

Yeah, but the last i heard 14.0 pro isn't available for purchase in general.
