We've made another change which we believe will address this (actually will allow scrolling while the focus in the the TextArea itself, or on the scrollable canvas)
Please try the next nightly build (May 3 or above) and let us know if it still isn't working!

Awesome. The scrolling works now!

However, I see a bunch of WARN log messages in the dev console from VLayout.addMember() with what looks to be the member being added. Using 4.1p-20140505

Some debug warnings did get checked in - if these are to do with setting element value etc, these are safe to ignore (and will be gone with the most recent nightly build).
If it's something else, please post a sample of the warnings and we'll let you know what they mean
