Hello,
it is currently not possible for the user to enter negative values when the simpleType "localeFloat" is used. item.getValueAsFloat() always removes the "-" in front of the number.
Entered Value => 400 => item.getValueAsFloat() => 400
Entered Value => -400 => item.getValueAsFloat() => 400
