Newbie QS : DO I also need to download the SmartClient JS library ?

Since SmartGWT is awrapper for SmartClient javascript library, do I need to also download the library separately from the SmartGWT SDK ?

If so where do I need to place it in my project (somewhere in war folder?)

Also, if the above is true, is SmartGWT <--> SmartClient version compatibility that I need to be aware of ?

i.e Version X of SmartGWT only works with version X of SmartClient ?

No. SmartGWT includes the appropriate version of the SmartClient library. You should not try to mix and match them.
