Grid Validation Warning gives extra line break while editing

When a grid is validated, the validation warning icons appear properly as they should. Please see this image.

However, when you attempt to edit that record, an extra line break appears to be inserted before the edit field making the row expand and formatting look bad. Please see this image.

Is there a way to avoid this extra line break?
