Date Format Validation

Reference to your feature exporer example for Standard date format

When using the calendar icon to populate a date and hit 'Save Edits' button. The field shows a validation error - 'Must be a date'.

I wish to show my date in the MDY inputformat and submit the same.

Please guide.
