Is it possible to send a mail with an attachment using SmartClient APIs?

here you recommended JavaMail+Velocity for this in 2017. Is this still the best approach? Or is something using a <mail> tag possible in the mean time?

Hi Blama, I'm using JavaMail when I need to send an email with an attachment, though it would be very handy to have this feature using the mail tag.
