Customize NULL display in ListGrid

We are using SmartClient_80_Pro. Instead of displaying an empty cell in the grid for null values, can we tell the grid to display a "-" or "NA" instead? The nullable column could be a string, number, or date column. If there is an easy solution, will the solution affect the sort?

Set ListGrid/ListGridField.emptyCellValue. Will not affect sort.
