isomorphic_tools.jar: for production or not?

I'm using Sc8.1 Power, quoting from the docs:
"isomorphic_tools: <cut> This is an SDK-only tool, not intended for production deployment, and further intended for rapid prototyping only. Do not deploy this module to production"

but isn't it required for the BatchUploader?

You're correct, the BatchUpload functionality should technically be in a different .jar - we'll move it. In the meantime, it's safe to deploy the isomorphic_tools.jar just for this purpose - none of it's other features are enabled unless you make specific additions to server.properties.
