Is it possible to save the state of PortalLayout.

Hi Isomorphic,

I am referring to Portal example provided in SDK at below location:

\SmartClient_81_Enterprise\smartclientSDK\examples\animation

We need to implemented user specific dashboard functionality and I see that grid on the left side can fetch the data from DB but it is possible to save the state of Layout. I mean to say that is it possible to save the user preference of Portlets to display by default.

If you're asking whether this feature is built-in, it's not. But you can write code that grabs the current portlet's positions and sizes and rebuilds the same layout.

The SmartClient product description page suggests that this functionality is in beta and available through JumpStart. Do you have an ETA for general availability, and what is involved in getting access through JumpStart?

Pieces of the portal functionality are trickling out in various editions (eh PortalLayout is LGPL and has received a few enhancements in 3.1d). To get started with a JumpStart, put together your requirements and contact us via the Company -> Contact menu to get started.
