How can this be prevented?

Not reproducible. You might be using native browser zoom (see Browser Zoom overview), although the problem was not reproducible when zoomed either. You might alternatively have some special extensions installed into your browser.

Let us know if you can isolate what is different about your machine that creates this issue.
