    Selenium WebDriver with Edge

    http://forums.smartclient.com/forum/...956#post215956

I see from the above post that support for an Edge-based SmartClientWebDriver was in the works back in August 2015, I'm wondering if there have been any updates on that?

Our team will eventually want to be able to run automated tests on Edge (we are already testing with Chrome and Firefox) and we're trying to figure out if we'll be able to do so in the foreseeable future.

    Thanks

Edge is still a tiny fraction of browser market share, even smaller in the enterprise, and has gained traction even slower than we expected. Add to that, early testing of WebDriver support revealed major issues, some possibly intractable.

So, we are looking at supporting this in an upcoming version, but we're not sure which one. Feature Sponsorship is always a way to ensure support hits in a particular version (assuming again that it's feasible yet at all!).

      Thanks for the response!

I suspected that might be the case... Our team will need to evaluate our options with that in mind, but it's looking like we may just have to drop support for Edge altogether then.

This was almost a year ago, has there been any updates regarding Edge support? Thanks

Status is pretty much unchanged; Edge continues to have minuscule market share in the enterprise, and our next priority for automated testing is supporting Selenium 3 (which unfortunately did not maintain backwards compatibility) rather than making it easier to build tests with Edge.
