Katalon Automation Recorder 3.5.6 and SmartClient 10 user-extensions.js

Katalon Automation Recorder is supposed to be a kind of replacement for Selenium IDE. You can add in your user extension files and they work with their recorder. Problem is we are on version 10 of SmartClient and the user-extension.js and user-extension-ide.js file do not seem to work very well. The menus are not recognized, nor are picklists and picklist selections. You can fake it out to some degree with the URL to get to new sections but once in the new sections nothing is located/selected properly, and pieces seem to get new IDs after each run. So even things that were found the first time, are not found on replaying the script.

Will there ever be an update to the user extensions JavaScript files for SmartClient version 10 that do a better job with the selectors/locators?

Or any other suggestions? Selenium IDE even with older version of FireFox (54) has stopped working with our SmartClient 10 application.

If we understand you correctly, Katalon recorder doesn't fully emulate Selenium IDE so things are broken. We could help you work around the issues in Katalon on a consulting basis, but there's nothing we can do to generally "improve" on locator support, since that already works fully with Selenium (as in, our enormous test suite continues to pass as expected).

As far as problems with Selenium IDE, how did it "stop working" - what did you change? Perhaps you broken it with an upgrade to Selenium IDE? If so, what version are you using? Have you already updated to at least the latest patched build of 10.0, or 10.1?
