12.1d: New "notificationsNewSample" sample feedback

Hi Isomorphic,

after your blog entry I tested the new notifications sample.

I really like it and do think it does look nice, but do not have a usecase for it, yet.
I think it would be pretty cool for async background tasks and things related to server push / messaging.

I do think that these two additions would make it even more valuable:

• More display locations (8 in total, like for snapTo, also with an offset like the right snapTo sample), as other pages and OS (e.g. Windows) do display those things on bottom-right.
• Support for many notifications that push older ones up/down/left/right

thanks, amazing once again.
I tried multiMessageMode: "stack" to test this. Could you integrate this and positioning also in the sample as options to select from?

I did have problems finding this in the docs, though.
I finally found it in the SmartGWT 12.1d docs, but the SmartClient docs are somewhat broken. It works here, but not if you do this (my default):

• Open the sample
• Open Developer Console
• Click Reference docs
• Enter "NotifySettings"
• Double Click it on the right

I also really like the new notification system, and the fact that one could specify a NotifyType.

This makes me wonder if it wouldn't make sense to have an analogous setting for Buttons, so one could have some button highlighted, ie as the 'Post Reply' button under the post editor in this forum.
