Notify Class Documentation

I am using the notify class as show here:

Is there documentation somewhere that provides details on how it works other than in the showcase?
I have searched for "Notify", "addMessage" and "configureMessages" in the SmartClient reference but nothing comes up.
Is anyone aware of documentation elsewhere?

You might be looking at an older version that pre-dated this feature.
