Date Format

I am new to Smartclient. I want to display date with 12 hours time format using AM/PM. can any one pls help me ?

I am not using GWT-smartclient. I am just using GRID interface from smartclient which loads the data from datasource properties configured in the ds*.xml file ?

<field name="createDate" title="System Date" defaultDisplay="true" type="datetime" />

here datetime format doesnt give in terms of AM/PM .
