SmartGWT 13.0 + Java 17

We are using SmartGWT 12.1p in an application and would like to move to Java 17 LTS. When trying to build the application there are errors suggesting that SmartGWT 12.1 relies on Java features that were changed in Java 16. So my questions are:

1) Can you confirm that SmartGWT 12.1p does not work with Java 17.
2) If we upgrade to SmartGWT 13, will this work with Java 17?

And the way I understand is that also newer versions of 12.1p (and not only 13.0p) support Java 17.
