Black rectangles in Chrome version 27.0.1453.94 m

This is just a quick enquiry to see if its a known issue. If it isn't, I'll follow up with more detail.

We're using SC8.0 and in the latest version of Chrome (27.0.1453.94 m) we see a black rectangle left behind when a combobox item picklist is closed. In Chrome v26 we did not see this and we don't see it in IE, FF, Safari etc. nor do we see it in the feature explorer. And we haven't made any changes to the version of SC we're using.

If anyone has seen this behaviour, I'd appreciate any links.

    Thanks,

    Colin.

Not a known issue, but then, your browser is years newer than your SC version. We don't test new browsers that far back, or backport fixes.

Many thanks. We'll investigate, including upgrading SC.

Do you have a policy or a rule of thumb describing how far back you do test and back-patch fixes?

        Thanks

          Quick update

We're seeing similar, but not identical, behaviour in both SC8.3 and SC9. And we've tried Chrome 28 and 29 with the same result.

Still investigating but as a background task right now.

As a rule of thumb, if a major new release of a browser has come out since a release and the necessary changes are too large to really be a "patch", we also stop with other updates.

If there is a new minor release available (3.1 available when 3.0 has been out a while, for example), generally only security fixes will be applied to the previous version.
