gridField with type!=select and optionDataSource

until SmartClient Version: v9.0p_2013-10-04/EVAL Deployment (at least) a ListGridField with an optionDataSource but without type="select" (in my case a type="integer" inherited from the dataSourceField) behaved as if it was declared as type="select"

from v9.0p_2013-10-08/EVAL Deployment, it requires the explicit type="select".
Is it an intended change or not?

No, not an intended change. Resolved in tomorrow's build (2013-10-16).
