at #2, yes i think this redraw should also not be called when opening the node programmaticly.
The visual effect of hiding all nodes below that node might be very irritating for the user.

We've made a change to address the blanking problem when a node is opened. It's been applied to SC 10.0p and newer, and is in the nightly builds currently available (marked 5-14-2015).

I have tested the issue against the latest nightly SmartClient_v100p_2015-05-15_Pro
#2 is now fixed and seems to have the same visual effect, as opening the treenode with the mouse. Seems pretty to me, thanks for fixing it.

Also I recognized that also the cosmetic edge case of #1 is also fixed :). Maybe this is a side-effect from one of the other threads or some changes through the datasource, but in the example the sidebar doesnt get's smaller when scrolling through the treegrid anymore.
