Alt tags or ids for all skin images

Hi guys,

we are currently trying to setup functional automation testing scripts in Quick Test Professional and it needs to be able to uniquely identify images. Is there anyway to add alt tags , ids or a unique identifier to each skin image?

We really can't recommend QTP. Even if there were unique identifiers on every image, because the DOM we generate differs by browser, browser version and operating system, you would still be writing test scripts against internals of the system that are subject to change at any time.

Our partner SOASTA provides a testing solution that is integrated with SmartClient so that it actually understands what parts of the DOM are SmartClient components and asks SmartClient for stable identifiers instead of dealing with low-level HTML elements.
