Option to trim trailing spaces from database character fields

Thank you all, I will keep this in mind. I guess if I were a purist, then I might say that validators shouldn't really change the value of what they are validating ;-)

I did not know that a Validator can also easily manipulate the value, that's good to know.

Hi Blama yes it's a useful feature, I use several SimpleTypes to do trim, capitalize, uppercase, etc

For the OP I don't think this will help, as the problem comes from this thread and there the DB will always fill the column with trailing spaces at ADD/UPDATE.

I think it would be a useful feature to have an option to automatically trim trailing spaces from database data-source character fields. The option could be added to the data-source definition. I'm not too worried about the default but I suspect 'yes' would be the most useful.
