Calendar/Timeline for a year

Hi,
we would like ask about an timeline-like calender, not only for a month but a year. By now you have the possibility to work with timelines for multiple persons for example here.
We would like to see a possibility to create a year-overview for one person in which you also can drag and create new events. So it could be like in every row you have one month and on the top you could have 1-31 for the days. I think this feature is missing even in the latest smartclient-edition.

Using a ListGrid is sure an alternative, but if you have different events and categories there is no chance to set the background from especially one cell. Therefore a method like "getExportBGColor" would also be necessary for displaying the color in a cell in the browser normally. Btw: imho smartclient should already support this.

If you're could use a so called method to set the background, you will run into the next problem. If you have two events on the same day, the background-color of one cell must be devided in some kind, to let the user see, that there are multiple events. So one color is not enough.

And propably you will then notice, that a listgrid with only colors for events will not have any additional value, because you have to display always a legend, but this is only possible for the categories and not the events specially. So there has to be some kind of tooltip/prompt/help by hover) for the event (not only a cell, which is also not present in the listgrid by now).

So a ListGrid is probably a fast way for displaying only a calendar with numbers. But working with events is beyond the limits of a Listgrid by now.
In my oppinion a year-overview that can handle events - like one month per lane - is missing.

Sorry, but you're not correct about the limitations of ListGrid - among other things you don't seem to be aware of either the getCellCSSText() override or the recordComponents subsystem.

But again, if you are interested in Isomorphic building this kind of feature into the framework, you need to consider Feature Sponsorship.
