FilterBuilder.getCriteria() does not return empty-valued entry

Hi Isomorphic,

I’m using SmartGWT Pro from 09/26/2011 nightly build.

I’m using FilterBuilder, see attached screen shot.

If I don’t fill in the value text-field, I found that FilterBuilder.getCriteria() method simply skips this entry, it doesn’t return the field and operator in the returned criteria.

If I type in some value in the text field, getCriteria() returns the field, operator, and the value correctly.

How can I tell FilterBuilder to return at least the field and operator (with an empty/null value) to the caller ?

What I need to accomplish is to validate that user filled in the “value” field.
Previous posts in this forum by Isomorphic suggested to get the criteria and validate it, but I’m stuck because the “getCriteria()” itself never gives me a chance to get the criteria if the user leaves the “value” field empty.

Thank you very much for any hints.

Hi
We’re making a change to address this.
Can I quickly confirm - are you working with the 2.5 branch or the 3.0 branch?

Thanks

Hi, thank you for the quick reply.

I am using the 2.5 branch (09/26/2011 nightly build).
I look forward to the enhancement.

Thank you.

We’ve now made a change
As of the next nightly build (dated Oct 20 or greater) you can pass a parameter to filterBuilder.getCriteria() to pick up criteria with empty values.

Hi Isomorphics,

Thank you for the enhancement, we’ll get the latest nightly and try the new feature.
