Using AdvancedCriteria with setPickListFilterCriteriaFunction

I have a ComboBoxItem to which I’ve given a FormItemCriteriaFunction.
When I return a plain Criteria from the getCriteria() method, it works as expected and the Criteria is sent correctly in the DSRequest (I’m using server side filtering and sorting). However if I return an AdvancedCriteria, the DSRequest does not send any filter criteria.

We are not using Smart GWT Server. I am expecting to need to process the AdvancedCriteria manually in the DSRequest, I just can’t seem to get it into the request in order to do so. These are requests sent as the user types a search into the combo box.
This is a custom DataSource and I’ve set willHandleAdvancedCriteria(true).

Is there something I am missing that would be required in order to get an AdvancedCriteria sent in the request when a regular Criteria works fine?

Here is a DSRequest sent when I type a search into the combo box and have an AdvancedCriteria returned in the FormItemCriteriaFunction:

{
    "dataSource":"Profile",
    "operationType":"fetch",
    "componentId":"isc_PickListMenu_2",
    "data":{
    },
    "startRow":0,
    "endRow":75,
    "sortBy":[
        "lastNameLower"
    ],
    "textMatchStyle":"startsWith",
    "resultSet":[ResultSet ID:isc_ResultSet_3 (created by: isc_PickListMenu_2)],
    "callback":{
        "caller":[ResultSet ID:isc_ResultSet_3 (created by: isc_PickListMenu_2)],
        "methodName":"fetchRemoteDataReply"
    },
    "willHandleError":true,
    "showPrompt":false,
    "prompt":"Finding Records that match your criteria...",
    "clientContext":{
        "requestIndex":3
    },
    "requestId":"Profile$6276"
}

I’m using a nightly Smart GWT 2.5 from 9/18/11, running in IE8 and Chrome.

Thanks

Nothing is jumping out to explain this from your description. Best to first verify that you’re having the same issues with the latest nightly build from http://smartclient.com/builds, and if so, post a standalone test case that we can run that demonstrates the issue.
(No need for any server logic of course - just enough to see the request be issued by the client).

Thanks, it turned out I was causing the Advanced criteria to be excluded from the DSRequests because the DataSource had setSendExtraFields(false), and of course “criteria” didn’t match up with a field in the DataSource.
